While at school students
are invited to use the extensive facilities available to them. These include:
Basketball
Courts: Courts are available during recesses and lunch.
Computers:
The school is equipped with 4 networked IBM compatible laboratories and
a separate lab of Macintosh machines. The school has earned considerable
recognition as an excellent centre of computer education. This is particularly
so in the application of technology to the learning environment in the
Technical and applied studies areas.
Drama
Centre: An air-conditioned, tiered learning centre is the focal
point for drama teaching in the school. Many highly successful graduates
of the school's drama classes have enjoyed applying the skills learned
in the wider community and in their vocations.
Handball
courts: Courts provide a popular pastime on the designated
concrete squares around the school.
Library:
A well equipped collection of books, DVDs and electronic resources
is available for student use through both programmed research skill development
and as a resource base. Whole class activities are also time tabled into
the library. Internet access is available at various workstations throughout
the library for research purposes. Distance education students use the
study room.
Multipurpose
Centre: Equipped with an air-conditioned indoor basketball
court, gymnasium facilities, stage, sound system and lighting, the MPC
is often a focus for assemblies, performances, sporting activities such
as futsal and PE lessons. Students may have access with permission (and
supervision) from the PE staff.
Music:
Excellent facilities include a soundproofed rehearsal room, music laboratory
and many instruments. Previous successes with instrumental (rock, jazz
and big bands) and vocal groups place the school as a leader in music
education in the area.
Oval:
Available for training during recess and lunch.
NB. All classrooms are airconditioned.
